Living in the rural valleys of Lacoste, France comes with many challenges. Transportation is possibly the largest challenge the locals face in their day to day life. With APEX, locals can now navigate the rural landscape and narrow roads with ease.

CONTEXT
The challenge presented was to create a product that would assist in the daily lives of the Lacoste, France locals. Over the span of eight weeks, as part of a SCAD sponsored collaborative project, we chose to design a light transportation vehicle specifically for navigating the roads of the Luberon Provence.
PROBLEM
Roads are extremely compact and narrow
Vehicle's turn radius aren't small enough
There is very little public transportation
Traditional vehicles are too large
RESEARCH
In order to resign a vehicle appropriate for the Lacoste landscape, our team traveled the same roads within a 15 mile radius on different vehicles, ranging from Peugeot Boxer van to the petite Renault Clio IV.
Further research was insightful as we defined what a light weight vehicle will be. Our base level criteria was that the vehicle would have three wheels, enough storage for two carry on bags, it would have a rechargeable battery, solar panel roof, and only carry two passengers.
